The Irish barrister who went to Spain and wrote a book…about an Irish barrister who went to Spain and wrote a book

WindmillDubliner Henry Murphy had an idea that he would like to write, and some years ago he started to write a series of short stories about a ficticious young barrister called Dermot McNamara. Since then there have been two further books in the series and Henry enjoyed some success with them.

Henry and his wife decided to take some time out and Southern Spain was chosen as the destination as Henry had been challenged to write a novel. Recently Ger Sweeney had a chat with Henry about his writing and his time in Spain, just as the novel, Tilting at Windmills, was starting to make an impact despite being released in the middle of the almost global lockdown. The conversation was recorded for Ger’s Irish radio programme, Live on Eire, which is broadcast on Spain’s leading English-speaking radio station, Talk Radio Europe. Here it is – Enjoy!
