On Thursday 2nd April President Michael D. Higgins released a statement that was aired at Midday on all Irish regional and local radio stations. The messsage is also carried in local and provincial newspapers. As the effects of the Coid 19 measures take hold the majority of newspapers and radio stations are experiencing a huge downturn in revenue as advertising campaigns are withdrawn due to the suspension of business across many sectors.
The President’s message addresses many issues that are affecting each and every one of us in Ireland. He praises the activities of the frontline staff who continue to work to ensure the continuance of vital services.
