New Irish Network for the Costa del Sol

Irish network LogoWe Irish are represented well on the Costa del Sol with various individuals and groups promoting music, culture, gastronomy, sport, charitable acts and of course the craic. However, it is always nice when all of these can be brought together to give them all a stronger voice. That is kind of what the Irish Network Andaluz is all about according to Shane O’Shea, who along with others involved in promoting all things Irish, is just about to launch the new group.

Irish Network Andaluz has been in its infancy for the past few months and will be officially launched at a black tie event on the Costa del Sol on 27th April. The event will be attended by the Irish Ambassador to Spain, Síle Maguire and promises to be a night to remember.

Shane spoke to Ger Sweeney recently about the new network and that interview can be heard below. Shane explained that the network is formed on four pillars – Cross Cultural Activities engaging the Visual and Performing Arts, Development of Sports, Charitable Focus and Business Networking. He also says that “The Irish Network Andaluz will attempt to bring together all the positive work being done on the coast by the Irish community, whilst embracing all others with an emphasis on the local Spanish community, our hosts.”

We wish the new network every success as it charts its way forward and no doubt we will be featuring it and its events here as the months and years progress.
